Ballistic Guard | Bullet Resistant Glass
Advanced ballistic interlayers offer the ultimate protection against firearm attack or prolonged high level violence. Ballistic Guard is AS/NZS 2343 approved, and certified to NATA accredited standards against 357 and 44 Magnums, 5.56mm and 7.62mm calibre firearms.
Ballistic interlayers
Ballistic interlayer technology harnesses kinetic energy to immobilise bullets within the glass panel upon impact.
G1, G2, R1, R2 configurations
Select from four firearm specific configurations designed for common calibres. Alternatively, we can design and test custom configurations for specific scenarios.
AS/NZS 2343 certified
Ballistic Guard passes rigorous testing to meet resistance standards defined by AS/NZS 2343, ensuring consistent protection against attack scenarios.

Product Overview
Constructed from multiple layers of toughened, heat soaked glass together with specialised ballistic interlayers, Ballistic Guard is our highest level security glass for robust protection against armed threats.
The Ballistic Guard glass make-up acts to rapidly decelerates bullets upon impact. In a non-elastic state, the glass absorbs the kinetic energy from incoming bullets, surpassing its fracture strength, ultimately shattering to immobilise the bullet. While the initial layer shatters upon impact, the elasticity of subsequent layers deflect the bullet's energy, slowing it down, resulting in the bullet becoming trapped within the layers to protect the opposing side.
The Ballistic Guard range offers four glass compositions G1, G2, R1, and R2, designed for specific firearm calibres. Ballistic Guard can also be configured in non-ballistic options for a tailored security solution for your specific needs.
- Ballistic laminates absorb and dissipate kinetic energy from bullets, trapping bullets within the glass layers

FAQs
Browse some of our most commonly asked questions below. Can't see your answer? Please call us on 1300 040 799 or get in touch via the contact form below.
How is custom laminated glass produced?
Laminated glass is produced by joining two or more glass panels with an interlayer, typically PVB or SGP. The glass is permanently bonded by applying heat and high pressure in an auto-clave, a vacuum chamber.
Are custom laminates Grade-A safety glass?
Yes, both laminated annealed glass and laminated toughened glass are classified as Grade-A safety glass according to AS 1288-2006 (Australian Standards) 2023. Our custom laminates fall under both of these categories.
Do you provide an engineering service for custom laminates?
Yes, we can offer engineering certification for custom laminate projects if required. Please contact us for further details.
